چکیده

This report introduces the notion of transparent distribution of real time software components. Transparent distribution means that (1) the functional and temporal behavior of a system is the same no matter where a component is executed, (2) the developer does not have to care about the differences of local versus distributed execution of components, and (3) the components can be developed independently. We present the design and implementation of a component model for real time systems that is well suited for transparent distribution. The component model is based on logical execution time, which abstracts from physical execution time and thereby from both the execution platform and the communication topology.

Bus Scheduling for TDL Components

This paper describes a solution for bus scheduling of distributed multi-mode TDL (Timing Definition Language) components. The TDL component model is based on the concept of Logical Execution Time (LET), which abstracts from physical execution time and thereby from both the execution platform and the communication topology. The TDL component model allows the decomposition of hard real-time appli...

The Transparent Dead Leaves Model

This paper introduces the transparent dead leaves (TDL) random field, a new germ-grain model in which the grains are combined according to a transparency principle. Informally, this model may be seen as the superposition of infinitely many semi-transparent objects. It is therefore of interest in view of the modeling of natural images. Properties of this new model are established and a simulatio...

A Deterministic Infrastructure for Real-Time Distributed Systems

The development of reliable software for real-time systems is currently a challenge. Moreover, changing the underlying platform for simple purposes such as a processor upgrade may severely affect the behavior of the real-time software. Working with distributed systems is even more difficult, and transitioning from one system to another is typically impossible. We address these problems through ...

Classiication and Representation of Types in Tdl

This paper presents TDL, a typed feature-based representation language and inference system, speciically designed to support highly lexicalized constraint-based grammar theories. Type deenitions in TDL consist of type and feature constraints over the full Boolean con-nectives together with coreferences, thus making TDL Turing-complete. TDL provides open-and closed-world reasoning over types. Wo...
